Crabtree Remote Tech Helper (CRTH) is a service from Crabtree CPA in which Crabtree’s Technical Professionals are able to remotely connect to your computer to assist you with your computer maintenance, support, and also assist with routine maintenance and file transfers from your accounting software.

3. What are the system requirements for Crabtree Remote Tech Helper?
Windows 98, 2000, XP or Server 2003 OS. A connection to the Internet via a broadband connection (cable modem, ISDN, or DSL). If running Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP/Server 2003, you must be a user with administrative privileges to install the software. You can check your current user name or add new users to your PC by opening the Control Panel on your PC and clicking on User Accounts.

4. How do I install the Crabtree Remote Tech Helper?
All you have to do is click a link in an email and allow the software to install itself from the Internet. The Crabtree Technology Staff can also give you phone assistance while you install the software. If you are not comfortable with technical operations on your computer, Crabtree Technology Department can be hired to handle any technical help you may need.

5. How much does Crabtree Remote Tech Helper service cost?
$10 per month. If you prefer Crabtree Techs to install the software for you, there is an additional one time fee.

6. What status does my computer need to be in for someone to connect?
The remote login software needs to have been installed and enabled, the power to your computer needs to be on and connected to the Internet.

7. Can anyone connect to my computer?
No. Only a computer that you have granted permission to is able to connect to your computer remotely. Crabtree will never connect to your computer without prior arrangements and notification.

8. How do I know if someone is connecting to my computer?
When a computer is connecting to your computer through this system, a small window will appear in the upper right corner of your screen alerting you.

9. Can I terminate the connection?
Yes. You can terminate the connection anytime by clicking on the small window in upper right corner of your screen. You can also turn the software off.

10. Can I turn the software off if I don’t want anyone to connect to my computer?
Yes, you can turn the software off by right clicking on the LogMeIn icon in the tray next to the clock and Disabling the software. Enable the software when you want to allow Crabtree to connect to your computer.

11. Is Crabtree Remote Tech Helper compatible with Macs or the Linux operating system?
No, at this time Crabtree Remote Tech Helper cannot remotely help a computer that uses the Linux or Mac operating system. However, we can give you tech help in person or by phone.

LogMeIn IT Reach is a service that Crabtree uses that establishes a secure support connection to remote and mobile computers.
