Printing from Virtual Server
THINWORX Universal Print
THINWORX supports universal print as built-in, which means user can print
remote application content to local printers (including network printers) but
all these printers' drivers are not required to install on the remote server.
When user submits to print, THINWORX offers "THINWORX Universal Print" as
default target printer on server side; clicking "OK" (or "Print" in some other
application print interfaces), remote print job data will be prepared and
transmitted to local side; then a local print interface shows up to let user
pick a printer to print the content. Note: To use THINWORX Universal
Print, user may be asked to install a updated version of Adobe Reader if there
is not a proper version (7.0 or later) of Adobe Reader running on user's
machine.
Step 1: User submits a print job from a remote application
Step 2: User accepts "THINWORX Universal Print"
Step 3: THINWORX prepares, transmits and loads print job data to
local
Step 4: User picks a local printer to print content
For Linux OS based or Mac OS X client, downloaded print job file will be
opened by a local PDF viewer, then a print interface is popped up; user can pick
a local connected printer to print the file.
